Kofax Capture provides powerful, production-level document and data capture capabilities. For document capture, it boasts the fastest, most flexible scanning and indexing solution around. For data capture, Kofax Capture extracts important information such as machine-printed text, bar codes, hand-printed words and checked boxes. It is a modular solution that can be used right out of the box to meet the information capture needs of a specific department, or can be expanded with modules to meet the complex requirements of a high-volume enterprise.
Kofax Capture is a batch-oriented capture application designed to support document/data capture and production/ad-hoc scanning in a single application. The definition process is simple and quick, and provides an extraordinary level of control over how your documents are processed.
Documents and forms come in a wide variety of formats. In addition to paper, you may have to deal with electronic documents, e-mail, faxes and digital images. Kofax Capture lets you capture information not only from the traditional scanner but also from multi-functional peripherals (MFPs), email, electronic documents (such as Word and Excel), and fax.

Kofax Capture Modules
Kofax Capture is made up of a variety of processing modules, which are used together to define workflows for your document batches.
Batches of documents normally enter the system via the Scan module and are automatically routed from module to module as each processing step is completed. The routing steps can vary for different batch types. The final processing step is the Release module, from which in-process images and data are transferred to your business system applications and then deleted from the Kofax Capture system.
In small installations (from a few to several hundred documents), these modules typically all run on a single computer. For high-volume installations (with thousands of documents per day) the various modules generally run on separate workstations.
Kofax Capture uses standard release scripts to connect seamlessly to business systems from IBM®, Oracle®, Microsoft®, Open Text®, Hyland®, Interwoven®, and many others. Kofax Capture can also export to any ODBC-compatible database or to a delimited ASCII file
