All organisations rely on information, so in a real sense Oyster IMS helps businesses do business. In fact “information management” doesn’t quite do our work justice. What we really do is reduce risk, increase peace of mind and improve operational efficiency by providing clients with faster, safer, cheaper ways to get the most out of their information resources.
Every client is different, but our process typically involves some form of information audit – examining information-handling processes, data repositories and the potential risks associated with each – followed by designing or recommending practical solutions. These may involve retraining staff, changing business processes, resolving technical issues, implementing new systems or whatever mix is most appropriate. Above all we go beyond the terms of our contract to make sure our customers are happy. In fact “client satisfaction” is at the heart of the way we work.
The desire for excellence in corporate information governance is driven partly by the risks associated with litigation and other disputes, partly by increasingly tough compliance regimes and partly by a desire to increase operational efficiency and reduce cost.
